DESCRIPTION

Textile work combining Gel Plate Monotype and Hand Distressed Finishing. Featuring the cover of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Idiot on the front alongside fragments from Lars von Trier’s The Idiots on the back. Drawing on a thematic connection between the two works, the composition brings together different explorations of innocence and naïveté as forms of confrontation with social convention and hypocrisy. Built through successive printed layers and chemical aging processes, the surface continues to evolve through wear and washing.
